Amoxicillin - an antibacterial bactericidal acid-resistant agent of a wide spectrum of action from the group of semi-synthetic penicillins. It disrupts the synthesis of peptidoglycan (a component of the bacterial cell wall) during division and growth, and causes bacterial lysis.  Active against aerobic gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (with the exception of strains producing penicillinase), Streptococcus spp., and aerobic gram-negative bacteria: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp.

Antacids, glucosamine, laxatives, food and aminoglycosides slow down and reduce absorption;  on the contrary ascorbic acid enhances absorption. At the same time, the acidic environment of the stomach does not destroy amoxicillin, which contributes to its high efficiency.
